The council adopted the zoning ordinance on final reading, three in favour, two against and two abstaining. It creates an inclusionary multifamily zone on the Route 70 corridor to generate 134 affordable units, a zone at Jamestowne Village, site-specific zoning at 2008 Route 37 allowing two floors atop an existing retail building for up to 16 market rate homes and at least 4 affordable, and raises density in the Hooper-Claudina redevelopment area from 10 to 18 dwellings an acre for 6 more affordable units.
